Our Family had a great Christmas/Winter Break. WE loved spending a whole two weeks together. Tuesday Dec. 23 We spent the whole day with Grandma Ruth trying to keep her out of her home as Grandpa Andrus finally came up with a surprise Christmas gift. I was so proud of him. HE had been workingon it for months to make sure it was perfect! IT was of course. Shannon helped to make this day work as she "needed" us to come to her house. It was perfect. By the time we got Grandma to her house everything was set!!!!!
On Christmas Eve-- WE spent the whole day at the Andrus's as Aubree, Kelsy and Jeff were there. I of course forgot the camera and did not get one picture of Uncle Jeff's cool sledding hill.I don't think it could have been better for the kids. We had a great dinner. Derrek brought a person from work who is here from China. He spent the evening with us games, nativity, Christmas apple and all. I think he enjoyed himself even though language was a slight barrier. Christmas morning was at home with all the fun and delight of children. I love their excitement and thanks. I have perfect children. (OK not really but close). Rachel took forever to open each gift as she was more interested in the paper. However, once her gifts were open she was impressed. Jacob and Shelby were very patient and kind to wait for her. Derrek and I also had a great morning. The kicker to all the fun was the end. Derrek's gift was to heavy for me to carry. (my Dad got it in the house)so it was upstairs. So we came up to see it last and Rachel, Jacob and Shelby played in the box in came in for about an hour. Silly kids. We should have saved money and just go them some empty boxes. We then went to the Williams and had a great rest of the day with dinner and everything. WE played games until Rachel was done (about 11:00). We then came home and shoveled our way into our driveway for 2 hours. Some of the snow had drifted about knee deep for me (kap). A lot of work. Well a lot of fun for all.
