Hawaii The End
Wow I have been busy and have not been able to finish. So here is the end of our great Trip. Maui was wonderful. I loved being there. Here are some pictures from the wedding (our reason for going) and we also swam with the sea turtles. WOW. They are big and beautiful. We had a wonderful time and amazingly I have been able to come home and not feel guilty about going and enjoying my husband. I feel filled emotionally which I have not felt since we lost our sweet Joshua. I loved the trip and the company. We had great fun. I highly suggest going if you can swing it.
Yes all of the ladies there were tiny. Even losing 65 pounds recently I was still bigger than the others.. Good thing my husband likes me the way I am. It helps me be happy with who I am.
The beautiful couple. Isn't the bride beautiful. She is Derrek's cousin. We love her dearly. Her husband is great also we just don't know him as well yet.

Hawaii Fun Part 2
Maui Day 2
The second day in Maui we went on the infamous Highway to Hana. Derrek wanted me to see this without the obstructed view of windows etc so we rented a convertible. He wanted a Mustang but oh well we got the Se bring. I am pretty sure I could get used to driving around with the wind blowing through my hair. Not really practical in Utah but Maui...............
Derrek Being the gentleman guided Tami and I through the moss covered rock river. He had on good shoes. Flip flops are no good on the rocks.
This is the 200+ foot waterfall at the end of a great 2 mile hike through a bamboo forest. It was raining of course because it is the Rain forest. I have not hiked like this for years. Thanks to Take Shape for Life and the loss of 60 pounds I felt like a kid again racing to the top. I loved it. I had so much fun with Derrek and his family. They are great people to be with. I truly lucked out in the whole in-law part of my life. They all are nice and easy to get along with, they take good care of me and my family also.

Hawaii Fun Part 1
Derrek and I just got back from a wonderful vacation to Hawaii. We were able to spend some time alone and with many from his family for his cousin's wedding on a beach in Maui. Way to much fun for us. The whole trip was relaxing and fun. It was a great break from the everyday life. Things finally are settling down here as the Friday before we left I found out where I will be teaching, we decided not to sell our home and we decided to take this trip. A little last minute on the trip but we got a great deal and off we went. Here are the 6 days in pictures. We spend 2 1/2 days on Oahu and the rest of the time on the island of Maui.
The Polynesian Cultural Center was informative and fun. We had some silly tour guides who made our day there fun and full.
We spent the next day at Pearl Harbor. It is a hallowed spot of ground. We were able to tour through the Bowfin, The Arizona Memorial, and the Mighty MO battleship where the peace treaty to end WW 2 was signed. We both love history and this was a special and bonding day. It also was mother's day and we learned we had a new nephew born today.
After Pearl Harbor we flew to Maui and went to see Derrek's cousin and family at the house they were renting for her wedding week. It was fun to feel the excitement of people about to be getting married. We did not stay to late because all of us had to be up early for a snorkeling adventure. We went to a sunken volcano off the coast of Maui called Molokini. The wedding party all came and we got to know many of the guests who were important to Derrek's aunt, uncle and cousin. The coral reef was amazing and it was my first time snorkeling. I was a little scared at first but loved it as soon as I got into it. I could kick around for hours. I got contacts so I could see the fish and coral. BEAUTIFUL. We were also on a sail boat. Derrek loves to sail and he enjoyed sailing back and forth. We then met Derrek's parents and sister and brother in law and brother. We went on a little hike and then went back to our hotel. The peace and stillness of Maui was calming to my soul. It is late and I have to go to work tomorrow so I better end here and I will finish the other three days tomorrow.
